I met this guy after long time. We were once worked together in a project. Both of us has left the firm now, and we decided to have dinner for some talks.
We talked about many things. Some nonsenses. But one I most remember came from him:
“I met a guy at the site office. He was a smart one. A native from nearby town, graduated from local university (or school?). He spent his whole life in there, earning local minimum wage. He was so smart that I believe if he were born and lived in Jakarta, he would be there working at a prestigious company, at my place, or even better, he could be my boss.”
“Then I think about us.”
“That’s us.”
