Stanage Edge - one of my best day in England!

Bye the end of August 2016, Tico, a friend of mine asked me and a couple of our friends to join her in a trip to Stanage Edge. For anyone hasn't heard about it -- like me at that time (I was like "what the hell is that") -- definitely not a popular place for foreigner, it was the place where a scene from Pride and Prejudice movie (starring Keira Knightley) shot. Here's a capture of the scene...

So.. knowing that it appeared in (one of) my favorite movie, I easily said "YES"! Very luckily, it was summer and we visited during a very bright day. We got along very well during the trip and Affandi, a friend of mine, had a fancy camera with fancy lens (the fish eye), I love almost all pictures taken that day hehehe. Can't lie it was one of my best day in England :)

The trip started from Manchester Piccadilly station to a small station in Peak District called Hathersage costing £7.4 round trip (I had student railcard which gave me 30% discount or you could pay original ticket price of £10.6). It was around an hour trip one way. We passed a station called Edale where lots of train passenger got off, it was probably one of the most popular spot in Peak District, hasn't been there and hasn't looked anything about it until now.

Oh, one thing, I LOVE LOVE LOVE British countryside it was just per-fect. Even writing this post make me want to come back, just for the countryside OMG!

Well, here's a picture of camera trial -- in our way to Hathersage, on the train.

Cheers!

Arrived at Hathersage station, we need another an hour walk until reaching Stanage Edge. According to Google Maps...

Quite steep but relatively easy walk. Very enjoyable with fresh air and beautiful countryside houses. Well done.

I remember taking lots of pictures but they're gone altogether with my broke phone so.. all documentation I got came from Affandi's camera.

Here's our picture together before reaching Stanage Edge (apart from Affandi, he's the photographer!).

Tico-Sarahi-Kanet-Endah

Sarahi and a bottle of fresh whole milk; cost me around umm £0.55 if I'm not mistaken.

As none of us actually knew how Stanage Edge look like (although we'd seen the movie), we thought a pile of stones (if you see in the right corner of picture above) as the Stanage Edge itself. Then we were so happy when arriving there, take lots of picture as if it was the real Stanage Edge. One thing we wondered about was ... if this is Stanage Edge, why no one but us was there? We didn't know how popular it should be but it shouldn't be very quiet hahaha. Yet, here's some pictures of it!

Bright sky bright smile!

Awkward sitting pose but yeah umm..

Curling up because it's so beautiful, feel like I'm dreaming.

Standing straight

Bent and bitchy

Really I was so happy hahaha please excuse my poses

Fish eye in action!!1 To be honest I was a bit scared at the beginning hahaha. On top of the world!!

Me trying the fancy camera

Model for the day!

Can see how quiet it is? We were definitely the only visitor! It couldn't be THE Stanage Edge  right?

Yeay Affandi is in the frame!!

Looking carefully in this picture, there is a ridge (?) at the background, quite long and lots of cars around. We actually started wondering if we were in the wrong "Stanage Edge"....

Then we started walking towards the ridge..

Yeay this is Kanet posing

Another chilling pictures.

Walk walk walk passing the meadows..

And... voila! We arrived at the real Stanage Edge! It was a long ridge, high enough for people doing wall climbing (because it was the thing most of visitors doing when we arrived). We weren't wall climbers so we took a designated path to the edge, with lots of sheep around.. pooping. But they were cute and they pooped everywhere anyway so that's fine.

And on top of it..... another poses!

It was sooo windy on the top I didn't dare sitting (or standing!) closer to the edge. After a small research (on internet) I knew that during the shot, Keira was tied to a rope that she could stand very close to the edge. We take (lots) of pictures up here, helping people making memories by taking them pictures etc etc (ahahaha, I just wanted to be seen so kind), and that's! One of my best day in England.
